- OUR “BREAKS/PACKAGES” ARE RESTRICTED SLIGHTLY THIS YEAR IN THE AFTERMATH OF COVID19.
- BOOKINGS FOR THE USUAL MAIN HOLIDAY SEASON ARE AS PER NORMAL.
- What’s on and where to go in Costa Brava and Cataluña. See “NEWS” for SPRING & AUTUMN BREAKS 2023.
- For 2024 we would like to continue singing the praises of the surrounding countryside, with this in mind, a range of options are detailed below. If you are interested in any of these ideas please do get in touch…
Low Season Walking Holidays:
There are some fantastic walks in the Baix Emporda. A number are part of the GR routes and are therefore well documented, but literally, there are hundreds of trails to follow. We propose undertaking guided walks. They will vary in length and difficulty depending on those participating. A week’s holiday would include at least four escorted walks. A lunchtime “menu” to sample local cuisine will be de rigueur. These walks would not be available in July & August.
Escorted Excursions To Local Places Of Interest:
Cataluña is rich in history, culture, art and cuisine. Suggested destinations are; Monserrat, a very important seat of Catalan religion, the beautiful Valley of Nuria near the French border, an excursion to Ceret, Perpignan and Collioure or a trip to the extraordinary area of Collsacabra near Vic. Another two very popular destinations are Barcelona and of course Girona town.
For those of you wanting to go it alone, maps and suggestions will be available.
Catalan Cuisine For Foodies:
The Catalans are naturally proud of their culinary heritage. The basic food is peasant based, where no part of the animal goes to waste. They are great offal eaters but relish the finer cuts also. With the rise in fame of “El Bulli” and now “Celler de Can Roca” (in Girona), one of the world’s best restaurants, many other Michelin Star restaurants in the Province of Girona have gone from strength to strength. Botic in Corça now has 2 Michelin stars as does Les Cols in Olot (certainly doable for lunch).
While we do not intend to introduce a Gourmet Week, we would like to point you in the direction of the more interesting options available. These would range from tapas bars, remote hilltop hostelries, good value wholly Catalan restaurants and the odd Michelin Star also.
Anniversary and Birthday Breaks:
Over the years we have catered for a number of birthday parties, family reunions, wedding anniversaries etc. Such special occasions are always good fun, with guests already set on enjoying themselves. We are intent on providing a memorable celebration at Casa Dos Torres. With this in mind we are promoting these breaks to include such extras as Cava on arrival, flowers and fruit in the room, afternoon tea, pre-dinner drinks with tapas and a celebratory dinner including wine. Post dinner dancing/partying is mandatory. Collection from Girona airport is included and excursions can be organized, to Barcelona, for example.
Golfing Breaks:
Many of our guests avail themselves of the splendid golf courses in the area. This is particularly the case in the Spring and Autumn when the weather is warm and settled. The green fees are cheaper at this time and the courses are not too busy. There are a number of first class courses in the area, most notably Platja de Pals, Emporda and PGA Catalunya. The house comfortably fits groups of up to eight.
We offer golfers staying five nights or more during the months of March, April, May & October a special price of 150€ plus tax @ 10%, pppn half board. This includes a full buffet breakfast, an afternoon tea or coffee on your return and a three-course dinner with wine in the evening. Competitively priced green fees can be organized in advance. Local Travel
The above suggestions are an idea of what will be available for 2024. For more details and availability please contact John & Jane.
Some of you will already know that John is available for Girona airport pickups. Walking holidays, excursions etc do not necessitate a car. If there was a need for a day or two of car hire it can be arranged locally.
With a number of flights arriving in the early evening and therefore a late arrival in Calella, we can provide a three course evening meal with wine. This would have to be booked in advance and would be available until 10.00pm. A supper would be bookable for arrivals after 10.00pm.
Another concern is the baggage allowance restrictions on many flights. With this in mind, beach towels are available for guest’s use.
